Last night I had the pleasure of trekking to Kewaunee with Abbie and her family for some belly portraits.  Now, Abbie and I have known each other for quite a while.  We worked at the same photography studio a few years back and after leaving, we both decided to venture off on our own and start our own business.  Now, when I got pregnant with Bobby Abbie helped us out by photographing both my belly and newborn photos.  And last fall we swapped family sessions as well.  It is so handy having someone you trust in the business!

SO, when I found out earlier this year that she was expecting baby #2, I was thrilled for them….and SO excited to return the favor and do their belly photos!  We had a perfect evening for photos last night and got some fabulous images!

Abbie and Greg, I hope you love them as much as I do!

Their son Logan is SUCH a sweetie!  I just love him!

quick shot of Logan while mom did a shirt change..

Logan calls the baby ‘Smiley Face’  How adorable is that?  Here he is giving some love to the babe…

love this.

and one last shot of the gorgeous Momma to be….again:)

Hey all.  I am in the midst of doing some major over-hauling to this blog.  I can’t wait to share the new blog with you all as it is awesome and modern and totally fabulous!  BUT in the process of switching things around, a few things went wacky and currently I am not receiving ANY emails sent to info@erikakrause.com.  This is so not good as that is the way I communicate with 80% of my clients.  So, if you need to reach me in the next few days, please call.  920-655-7812.
I will keep you posted as to when the issue is resolved and when the new blog is live for your viewing pleasure!  Thanks all and have a great holiday weekend!
And because I can’t post without a few photos, here is my friend Crystal.  She is due with baby #2, a little girl, in August and allowed me to take a few belly photos of her up at my family’s land up in Spruce.  Such an awesome location and isn’t Crystal just the most gorgeous momma to be?!
Jameson wasn’t too thrilled about getting his photos taken, but we managed to get a few keepers!
perfect little basketball belly!
Saturday afternoon I headed up to Melissa and Adam’s house in Spruce for some belly photos.  Melissa is due with a baby boy at the beginning of July and I am just SO excited for them.  These two have a gorgeous house and I brought all my gear and did a few shots on the backgrounds, a few in the nursery and we were even able to get outside for a couple shots!  That hasn’t happened since late last summer for maternity photos!
Melissa, thanks so much for asking me to do your belly photos.  This is such an incredible time for you, to have that baby growing inside your belly.  Even though at times you are going to be miserable and uncomfortable, enjoy every second because believe me, you will miss it when he is in your arms.  And Adam, thanks for being a good sport!  I know the photos weren’t your cup of tea, but you did awesome.  I can’t wait to meet baby Brodie!  Enjoy the sneak peek!
How cute are they!?

LOVED the Old MacDonald theme for the nursery.  so super cute!

there are certain photos that make me miss being prego.  this is one of them:)

LOVE this one.  it was so gorgeous out on Saturday!

Monday afternoon I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kevin, Erin and her picture perfect baby belly. (seriously.  She has the kind of belly that you see in pregnancy magazines.  It is perfect!) I was able to photograph their engagement session two years ago, their wedding last May (check out the pics) and when she contacted me for a maternity shoot, I was THRILLED!  I just love when I get to see a couple through all of lives important milestones and Kevin and Erin, well, they are just fabulous to work with.  They are the sweetest, most genuine couple you’d ever like to meet and when their baby girl arrives in a month she is going to be one very loved and cherished little angel.
Kevin and Erin had nothing in mind for their maternity shoot, so I took that opportunity to try some new things out on them and they didn’t seem to mind being my guinea pigs at all!  And I must say, we got some of my favorite maternity shots to date!  (it helps that their living room and Amelia’s nursery are full of gorgeous natural light.)  Just a fabulous, relaxed and FUN session!
Kevin and Erin, thanks so much for choosing me to be the photographer to capture these special moments for you.  I can not wait to meet little Amelia next month!  Enjoy your sneak peek!
aren’t they adorable?
look at that insanely perfect belly.  If I didn’t like Erin so much I would have to hate her:)

and in Amelia’s gorgeous nursery

With these two as parents there is a very good chance little Amelia could be the cutest baby in Green Bay

and after those we took the backdrops down, put all the props away and brought out Kevin and Erin’s first babies, Mystic and Pluto.  These two were outside for most of the session and when they were finally able to come in, well, they were VERY excited to see mom and dad.  We tried to get a few shots of them sitting nicely next to mom and dad, but they were having none of it.  Just WAY to much excitement!  And even though there were no shots of them sitting still, we still got some fabulous shots with Amelia’s big brother and sister.

Look, Mystic is trying to get over and give Amelia some love…
There are kisses for the baby!
Mystic thought I was there to take photos of HER after a while!
Thanks again you guys!
Saturday morning I headed over to De Pere to photograph one of my very favorite families, the Blahnik’s.  I have been photographing these guys for years and just love their adorable, laid-back family dynamic.  I joke with Chad and Amber and tell them that their ever-growing family could keep me in business even if I had no other work!  I love that Amber makes getting updated photos of her kiddos a priority.
Right now they have four kids and Saturday I headed over to do Jocelyn’s(child #3) four year photos AND belly photos of Amber because she is expecting baby number FIVE!   Yup, five kiddos!  I am so excited for them and for me because this time around they decided to have me photograph the day of the new baby’s birth!  I have wanted to get into birth photography forever now and am so pumped that my first go-round will be with these guys who I am 100% comfortable with.  Ahh, they are just a lovely little bunch.  Okay, enough blabbing…here are a few from their session Saturday!
Enjoy the sneak peek you guys!

Mom and her kidlets!
that is a LOT of hands on one belly!
love for their new sister or brother!

how cute is little Bryson?!
and four year old Jocelyn!

Mom with baby #5’s first photo

love…
Saturday afternoon my best friend Kim and her family of four (soon to be five) came over for some belly/family photos.  Kim is cooking baby number three and looks absolutely fabulous!  We decided to do the photos at our house because, while small, it has some pretty amazing natural light in the living room.  We started with some family photos with everyone and her belly (that I admit, I am a bit jealous of.  My baby isn’t even one and I am already yearning for baby number three.  I am insane!) and we also did some solo shots of her as well.  Then we finished off the session with some photos of her oldest, Kate, who turned 6 earlier this month.  Now, in my close knit group of girlfriends, Kim was the first to have a baby and that baby was Kate.  I can’t FATHOM that was six years ago already!  It seems like just yesterday I was shooting her newborn photos and now she is this hilarious, silly, beautiful girl!  Time goes by WAY too fast once you have kiddos!
Kim and Ben, it was so lovely to see you guys!  I can’t WAIT to meet that baby in your belly.  My guess is a boy!  Jeffrey needs a partner in crime!  Hope you love the photos we captured!

After that shot I had Kim lift up her shirt so we could see the belly.  Well, little Jeffrey didn’t want to be left out.  We were ALL cracking up here.  Hysterical.
He’s proud of that belly!

Love for baby sister/brother

perfect baby belly

Ben got her some roses the day before her session so she brought them along for a photo (and because they were necessary due to a pregnancy related meltdown)  :)

Such a gorgeous Momma…

Then it was Kate’s turn…
We started with some photos of her in her karate gear.
This is hysterical to me.  She. is. awesome.

So beautiful!

While Kate did an outfit change, little Jeffrey got into some of her stuff:)
She wanted to do one with the roses SO bad and I did this to humor her…and LOVE the way it turned out.

Isn’t she Kim’s mini-me?
And one last family photo as a family of four!

Saturday morning I headed over to Brian and Shari’s house to photograph their second maternity session.  I have known these two since I photographed their wedding back in 2008 and have since photographed their first baby belly and then their adorable son, Liam.  Well, in May Liam has a baby sister on the way and I can’t wait to meet that gorgeous girl!
Shari and Brian, thanks again for inviting me into your home to capture such an awesome time in your lives!  I swear, I could sit and chat with you guys for hours!  You call me as soon as little Norah arrives!  Enjoy the sneak peek!
Gorgeous momma Shari

I love her name.  LOVE it.  Norah Noelle
Little Liam already loves his baby sister!

THey are a good looking family, aren’t they?

Saturday afternoon Pauly and I dropped the boys off with my parents and headed up to the U.P. to meet some friends for the night.  Now, some of you know that every year, during the 2nd week in July, Pauly and I head up to Rhinelander for the Hodag Country Music Festival.  It’s our one planned vacation and we look forward to it every year.  Well, a few years back we met a few fabulous women, the Vallier sisters from Gwinn MI.  In August, one of those sisters, Michelle, informed me that her oldest was expecting her first baby.  Like any first time grandma, she was SUPER excited and when she asked me to drive up for a maternity shoot, so was I.  I met parents to be, Nicole and Gus, for the first time Saturday and they are just the sweetest couple.  Saturday night we all hung out and relaxed and Sunday morning we did their belly photos.  The weather was great that morning so we were even able to get outside and do a few fun outdoor shots in their matching camo!  So cute!
Michelle, Nicole, Gus (and the rest of our yooper friends), thanks so much for the hospitality and for asking me to photograph such a special time in your lives.  I can’t wait to meet Miss Makayla!  I hope you love the images we captured…Enjoy the sneak peek!

That little mother/child charm was Nicci’s Valentine’s Day gift from Gus.  so so sweet!

Gus didn’t quite get the whole ‘belly photo’ concept.  He thought the photos would be ONLY of the belly…hence the camo shirt for the indoor formal shots.  cracked me right up.

Doesn’t she look beautiful!  Almost makes me want to be pregnant again.  ALMOST. :)

Probably my favorite shot of the session.  so sweet.

And then we ventured outside for some ‘camo’ shots!

Their dogs were racing around at their feet the entire time.

 With their ‘other baby’, Toby
