John and Melissa-Green Bay Wedding Photography

John and Melissa were married back in early July out in Colorado where they live.  Melissa’s mom Diane contacted me a while back about coming out for a few hours and photographing the wedding reception she was throwing the happy couple for the friends and family that couldn’t attend the official wedding.  I was happy to do so and Friday night I headed across town to gorgeous Thornberry Creek and was able to get a bunch of family photos and candid shots for them, as well as a handful of shots of John and Melissa.  Now Friday was a rainy gloomy day until the time I arrived at Thornberry.  The weather improved and we were able to do most of the family photos outside on the patio.  And then right before dinner the clouds rolled in and the rain began again.  So we all rushed inside and the first course was served.  About 20 minutes later I happened to glance out the window and saw that it had stopped raining and I could see just a bit of a rainbow out one of the back windows.  I headed over to that side of the hall and my mouth dropped open.  Outside the back doors was the biggest rainbow I had ever laid eyes on.  It was gorgeous and the sky was this amazing blend of hazy red and pink and blue.  I wasn’t the only one who noticed either.  Oodles of folks were coming outside to snap a shot of the rainbow’s beauty.  Including the bride and groom!  We only had a few minutes before the rainbow faded away, so we had to work fast, but I love the few images we were able to capture for John and Melissa.  It was a once in a lifetime chance as I am pretty sure I will never see another rainbow like it in my lifetime.  Just amazing.   I am not including many photos in this sneak peek, but had to get these rainbow shots on the blog.  John and Melissa, I am so happy I was able to catch them for you guys!
