Baby Bobby

So, our little man was 2 weeks old yesterday…I can’t believe how the time is just FLYing by. It is insane. Having two kiddos at home with us is a change, but a good one. Eddie ADORES his baby brother and is always wanting to hold and love on him. Bobby is doing well too. He is a BIG eater. I am feeding him every 2 hours or so during the day, but thankfully at night he gives me 3-4 hour stretches. He is already up over his birth weight, so that is really good according to his doc.
Eddie turned two last Thursday and we had his party this past weekend. I can’t get over the fact that just a little over two years ago we had NO kids and now we have two perfect little boys.

I am doing well. Tired all the time, but 4-5 hours of sleep is apparently all I require because I am functioning okay without having to take too many naps during the week:) I am actually shooting a wedding this weekend, so I have been busy preparing for that and editting my two weddings from last month. NO real maternity leave for this girl, but it feels good to be back in the land of un-prego:)
Here are some recent photos of the boys! enjoy!

isn’t he gorgeous.  I mean, yeah, I am a little biased, but he is beautiful:)

He’s here!!!

Introducing Robert Paul Van Roy. Baby Bobby. He was born Monday May 10, 2010 at 1:01 pm after less than 4 hours of labor. 7 pounds 13 ounces and 20 1/4 inches long. perfection. That is what he is. And a GOOD baby. Hopefully that keeps up once we get home this afternoon:)

Here is a quick peek at our little man…I will be posting more, but I need to get home and download the photos we have taken….

less than 2 months to go!

Not that I am counting down or anything:) I am due in less than 2 months and am getting so anxious to meet this little man. This pregnancy is SO much different than mine with Eddie. I loved being pregnant with Ed. This time around? Not so much. I am sore, swollen and oh so tired ALL. THE. TIME. Plus you throw in running around after a toddler and well, yeah, May can’t get here soon enough. I am 31 weeks along and getting huge…well, the doc says I am right where I should be, but I FEEL huge. whale-like almost. It is ridiculous:)

A couple of weeks ago my friend Abbie took some maternity portraits of our little family. Now, my son woke up that day possessed by the devil and I left her house so worried that she didn’t get any images of the 3 of us, but I was wrong. VERY wrong. I love so many of these photos. I can’t thank her enough. Check out her blog post about the session…her and I used to work together and she does a great job. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer (if I am not available of course) :)

some of my faves:)

not a belly photo, but one of the only photos of Eddie and I together…Pauly isn’t much of a photographer:)

Besides that, we have been busy working on remodeling parts of our house and preparing for baby #2’s arrival. The nursery is almost complete and my husband has been slaving away remodeling our storage areas in the basement to give us some more, much needed room. It is coming along nicely and I am finally starting to feel prepared for our boy’s arrival.

Eddie is doing awesome. Getting so big. and so smart. We have started potty training and he is actually getting the hang of it quite well. I am not holding my breathe, but I would love to have only ONE kid in diapers. We’ll see how he does with it once his little brother gets here.

As for the photo business, things are really starting to pick up again. I will no longer be taking any sessions (unless I have a cancellation) between now and July. I am booked up solid from now until the time I am going to stop photographing (the 3rd week in April). I am also starting to book up for sessions this July-October so if you know you want family/kiddo photos, let me know ASAP!
Alrighty, that’s if for this little update. Get outside and enjoy the gorgeous spring weather people!

Baby #2 is a….

BOY!!!! Eddie is getting a little brother!

I would love to say Pauly and I were shocked at the news we got Xmas morning, but during our ultrasound we both caught glimpse of a little ‘something, something’ between baby’s legs and after that, we both figured it was a boy. Both of us really wanted a little brother for Eddie, so it worked out perfectly. The babies will be born in the same season, so I’ll be able to reuse ALL of Eddie’s old clothes and toys. Plus they’ll only be 2 year apart and I hope that since they are both boys, that will make them even closer. Anyway, we are so excited and I can’t wait to get started on the nursery.

Other than the big baby reveal news, our Christmas was very uneventful. Full of family, friends and good times. My family is super close and we spent Xmas Eve at my parents house with them and the rest of the family. 11 people under one roof. It was insanity, but fun. Eddie got super spoiled and Pauly and I made out pretty well ourselves. My brother got me and Erika Krause Photography sweatshirt that is awesome! I’ll be wearing it this spring while I shoot sessions if my big belly will allow:)

We spent the rest of our weekend just relaxing. Pauly and I both worked SUCH long hours in November/December, it was so nice to just do NOTHING but play with Eddie, watch movies and chill out for a couple days. LOVED it.

I get back to shooting sessions in 2 weeks, so I am going to take this time and get ready for 2010. I am going to update the website, so if you have had your photos taken by me in the past year, look for your photos on the website in the next month or so. Also going to update price lists and I will be offering some new things as well (albums and printing services!) Stay tuned!

BIG news

We are expecting baby #2!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have wanted to post that for the past month and a half, but wanted to wait till it was ‘safe’ to tell everyone. And those of you who know me know how hard that was for me to do. I blab almost everything about my life to anyone that will listen. Anyway, I had a doctor appt on Thursday and found out that little bambino is doing great. I am 11 weeks along and due May 17! And while the baby is doing great, I can’t really say the same for myself. I didn’t have a day of morning sickness with Eddie and with this one I have been sick as a dog for the past 6 weeks. It is awful. And makes me positive that I am having a girl this time. We’ll find out for sure right around Christmas time!

The pregnancy nausea and and tiredness is another reason sessions are taking a little longer for me to get out lately. Right now I am running about 3 weeks. Normally it takes 2-2.5 weeks, so I am not horribly behind, but I still feel bad. BEAR with me. It shouldn’t last much longer.

Anyway, just want to let you all know the news! I feel like we are going to be in over our heads a bit since Eddie’s birthday is May 20th….so we’ll have 2 kids exactly 2 years apart! But I am sure it will all be worth it!

Here are the first two pics of our little one:

7 weeks

and 10.5 weeks

and since I am showing off my kids, Eddie got his first haircut on Friday. I cut off all his gorgeous blonde curls, but he looks great! Like SUCH a big boy!

Here is the certificate we got from Snips and Giggles in De Pere. I HIGHLY recommend going there if you have little ones! It was fabulous!

Eddie and the old farm

Last Sunday Eddie and I took a ride up to my grandma’s house in Spruce. She lives on this gorgeous chunk of land with a pond, old barn and creek running through the back of the property. I have been wanting to shoot Eddie’s photos around the old barn since he was born, and with the awesome weather we have been having, and my afternoon off last Sunday, the opportunity arose. The barn isn’t used anymore, but the textures and light around it are amazing.

my favorite. it took about 20 tries to get this shot as he apparently doesn’t like his hands in his pockets:)

I have also had this idea in my head for a long time. I wanted to do a shot of all 3 of our cowboy boots in the tall grass around the barn. I want to make this into a poster for our cowboy-themed basement.

Eddie’s first haircut!

Last night I took Eddie up to his cousin Heather’s for his first haircut. I have been putting it off for WAY too long for selfish reasons. I couldn’t stand to cut off any of those gorgeous strawberry blonde locks. BUT, after watching his little eyes water every time his hair poked him, I gave in and decided we should get a trim. We just did the bangs as I can’t bear to part with his little curls in back yet.
I didn’t get any shots of the actual haircut cause he was sitting on my lap and it took about 2 minutes, BUT here are the after shots. He did so well! Didn’t even cry once.

showing me his new haircut:)

Alright, so it has been a while. The past couple weeks have been busy. REALLY busy. Weddings to shoot, bridal showers to attend, tons of editting to do…but I did let myself have a little fun in between as well. This post is going to have a little bit of everything. First off, a couple weeeks ago I went over to my friend Jennie’s house to do a few photos of her. You see, Jennie is prego with baby #2 and will be having the little bambino this coming Wednsday (if not before.) She wasn’t sure she wanted belly photos, but decided to have me do just a few with her son Samuel. Here are a couple of my faves!

Last Saturday was my sister’s wedding shower. It was a couple’s shower at my parents house and it was lovely. perfect weather, cold beer and lots of relatives to help me look after Eddie:)

Eddie with his godmom, the bride to be

feeding his great grandma some fruit

the bride to be in the middle with her matron(myself) and maid of honor

I usually reserve my Thursdays for shooting sessions, but I took this past Thursday off to head down to Country USA in Oshkosh. I used to go every year with my mom, cousin and sisters, but couldn’t go at all last year as Eddie was brand new. This year I decided to venture down for just one night. My little sister Alyssa came with. We had TONS of fun. A much needed night of relaxing and adult beverage consumption.

with our cousin Sherrie and mom in the beer tent between shows!

and last but not least, some of Eddie. His cousins from South Carolina are here visiting for the next 2 weeks and he is loving it. SO nice to have some new babysitters too! He got one of his molar teeth last week and took 12 steps on his own yesterday!

Here he is in my parents pool last weekend on Fathers Day

and this morning we took him to the park with his cousins.

and just cause it cracks me up, here he is eating cheese balls. He sticks them in his mouth and chews em up with his front 8 teeth. looks ridiculous and adorable all at the same time:)

I will be blogging about my awesome wedding yesterday soon so check back….

Eddie-sand eater

So, Tuesday night after work and daycare, Eddie and I went outside to play with the new toys he got for his birthday. He loves his new sandbox from Grandma and Grandpa. LOVES it. He won’t sit in it yet cause the sand feels weird, but he loves digging with his shovels and knocking down sand castles that I build. Well, at one point I was building sandcastles along the edge of the sandbox and he was coming along behind me knocking them down almost as fast as I could build them. Well, all of a sudden, he takes a big handful of sand and puts it right in his mouth. And of course I started laughing and before I could say “No Eddie! Icky” he had another handful to his lips. At first he made afunny face, but then he just chewed it up and looked at me as if to say, “It ain’t bad ma, you should try it” Little stinker.
We then moved onto the new Little Tykes playset that Pauly and I got him. He loves playing peek-a-boo on it with momma. He won’t attempt the slide by himself yet, but he loves climbing UP the slide. goofball.

after the first bite of sand…see, no reaction, it was like he eats sand on a daily basis

i adore that gorgeous little face

finding momma

I like to call this one, ‘Pooping or Pissed?’

he only looks sweet and innocent
